COMMERCIAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Stephen Loosemore - Partner

Stephen graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge, in 1974. He was articled to Linnels of Oxford and then on qualification moved to Clifford Chance in 1979 where he specialised in employment law and commercial litigation. Stephen joined the firm in 1981 and became an equity partner in 1983.

Stephen has experience of a wide variety of commercial litigation acting over the years for both large and small private companies, public companies and other businesses.

His experience includes:

  •    defending breach of warranty claims in a Share Sale Agreement of £525,000
  •    defending a claim for £2.5 million for allegedly defective construction of golf course greens
  •    a claim for breach of Software Marketing Agreement against Cable & Wireless which was settled for £1 million
  •    a claim for breach of contract against an American company which involved a three day mediation in Tampa, Florida
  •    defending a claim by a Liquidator for the return of assets following a demerger and further claims for £4 million. This litigation resulted in four separate but linked legal proceedings including negligence proceedings against a firm of solicitors and directors' disqualification proceedings
  •    unfair prejudice petitions

Stephen's many outside interests include: tennis, golf, cycling, sailing, music (particularly opera), literature, history, films.
