Jennifer Murphy - Partner

Jennifer was admitted as a solicitor in 1996 having prior to this gained many years' experience as a qualified Legal Executive. Jennifer joined the firm in 1997 and became an equity partner in 2002. Jennifer has throughout her career specialised in probate, wills, trust and elderly client work. She is also a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Sussex Branch.

Jennifer has experience in a wide variety of issues relating to her field including:

•    drafting wills both simple and complex
•    Inheritance Tax planning and advice
•    dealing with the administration of estates of all sizes including the preparation of Inheritance Tax papers, negotiating with the Inland Revenue where appropriate, dealing with the finalisation of a deceased's personal income tax affairs, dealing with probate applications, preparation of detailed estate accounts and all issues arising throughout the administration period
•    dealing with the creation, day to day administration and termination of trusts; dealing with all tax issues arising during the life of a trust and upon its termination
•    dealing with preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney and administering elderly clients' financial affairs under the authority of such powers
•    dealing with application to the Public Guardianship Office for appointment of Receivers on behalf of elderly clients

Jennifer's outside interests include gardening, music, films, entertaining.
