Corporate Manslaughter Act
The Corporate Manslaughter Act comes into force on 6 April 2008 but 50% of business aren't prepared. The Act enables prosecution of companies and other organisations where there has been a gross failing, throughout the organisation, in the management of health and safety with fatal consequences.
Business owners could face imprisonment, criminal conviction and huge fines. Companies should review their health and safety policies as a matter of course but certainly before 6 April.
