WILLS, PROBATE, TRUSTS, ENDURING POWERS OF ATTORNEY

Christina Bennett - Partner

Christina served five years' articles with Nye & Donne of Brighton and was admitted as a solicitor in 1969. After a "career break" to bring up her family she returned to full time work in 1981 running a small office. That practice merged with Coole+Haddock in 1985 and in 1992 Christina moved to the Horsham office to take charge of the Probate and Trust Department. In 1998 she began to reduce her responsibilities and now works part time.

Christina advises and deals with all aspects of Wills, Probates, Trusts, Enduring Powers of Attorney:

  •    preparation of Wills including advice regarding inheritance tax and estate planning
  •    obtaining Grants of Probate and administration of estates
  •    trust matters - some of which have existed for many years - including investments (in collaboration with appropriate investment advisers), trust accounts and tax returns
  •    preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney - and registration at the Court of Protection
  •    assistance, particularly to the elderly, in clients' affairs generally, including acting as attorney if required

Christina is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Sussex Branch)

Christina's interests outside the law include history and archeology, embroidery, photography, theology, music, reading, philately - and her grandchildren! Among her voluntary activities she is a Trustee of a local Youth Club, and a governor of Ardingly College. In June 2007 Christina was ordained as a Deacon in the Church of England and is now also part time non-stipendiary Curate in her home parish.
